Freshwater pollution is a pressing global issue that requires immediate attention to safeguard the health of aquatic ecosystems and human populations. This research project delves into the various sources and consequences of freshwater pollution, focusing on both point source and non-point source pollution. Through an extensive literature review, this study highlights the significant impact of agricultural runoff, industrial discharge, and urban wastewater on the quality of freshwater bodies. Furthermore, the research examines the challenges associated with monitoring and regulating freshwater pollution, emphasizing the need for robust policies and effective management strategies. The role of technology in pollution detection and remediation is also explored, with a particular focus on the potential of advanced sensing technologies and data analytics in enhancing water quality monitoring. To address the complex issue of freshwater pollution comprehensively, this study emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration among scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders. By integrating scientific research, policy development, and community engagement, it is possible to implement sustainable solutions that mitigate the sources of pollution and restore the health of freshwater ecosystems.
