The issue of development and food crisis in emerging economies, particularly in Nigeria, has attracted significant attention from researchers, policymakers, and international organizations. This research project aims to critically appraise the relationship between development and food crisis in Nigeria within the context of environmental science. Nigeria, as an emerging economy, faces numerous challenges related to food security and sustainable development. The country's population is rapidly growing, while agricultural productivity remains low due to factors such as poor infrastructure, limited access to modern farming techniques, and climate change impacts. These issues have contributed to food shortages, malnutrition, and poverty in many regions of Nigeria. By examining the complex interplay between development and food crisis in Nigeria, this research project seeks to identify key environmental factors that influence food production and availability in the country. It will analyze the role of climate change, land degradation, water scarcity, and biodiversity loss in exacerbating food insecurity and hindering sustainable development efforts.
