Abstract

Agricultural practices have significant environmental impacts through greenhouse gas emissions, water and soil degradation, and loss of biodiversity. This project aims to explore sustainable agriculture practices that can mitigate these impacts while maintaining agricultural productivity. Chapter 1 provides an introduction and overview of conventional agriculture and its environmental issues. Chapter 2 discusses sustainable practices like organic farming, conservation tillage, integrated pest management and agroforestry. Chapter 3 analyzes case studies of farms that have successfully transitioned to sustainable models. Chapter 4 proposes a plan for adopting selected sustainable practices on a local farm. Chapter 5 summarizes the findings and conclusions, and provides recommendations for policymakers and other stakeholders to promote wider adoption of sustainable agriculture.
