Abstract
Land use changes are a critical aspect of environmental management and planning. This research project aims to assess land use changes in a specific region over a defined period. The study utilizes remote sensing data, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, and field surveys to analyze and quantify the changes in land use patterns. By employing these tools, the research aims to provide insight into the drivers of land use change, such as urbanization, deforestation, agricultural expansion, and infrastructure development. The methodology involves the acquisition of satellite imagery covering the study area at different time points. These images are processed and analyzed using GIS software to classify land cover types and detect changes over time. The land use of a place tend to change due to the nature and type of activities of its inhabitants.</p><p>These changes over time have significant effect on the environment. The positive and negative indication of such changes need to be noticed before the settlement decay. In this research work, the land use change indicators are assessed and solutions are proffered to mitigate the negative effects of such changes.</p> <br><p></p>
