Blockchain technology has gained significant attention in recent years due to its potential to revolutionize various industries, including supply chain management. This study explores the utilization of blockchain technology to enhance supply chain transparency in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The objective of this research is to investigate the benefits and challenges of implementing blockchain technology in SME supply chains and to provide recommendations for successful adoption. The research begins with a comprehensive review of the literature on blockchain technology and its applications in supply chain management. This review highlights the key features of blockchain, such as decentralization, immutability, and transparency, and discusses how these features can address the transparency challenges faced by SMEs in their supply chains. The methodology section outlines the research design, data collection methods, and analysis techniques used in this study. Data was collected through interviews with supply chain experts, case studies of SMEs that have implemented blockchain technology, and surveys of SME owners and managers. The findings from these data sources are analyzed to identify the benefits and challenges of blockchain adoption in SME supply chains. The results of the study indicate that blockchain technology can indeed enhance supply chain transparency in SMEs by providing a secure and transparent platform for recording and tracking transactions. However, challenges such as cost, scalability, and interoperability with existing systems need to be addressed for successful implementation. Recommendations for SMEs looking to adopt blockchain technology in their supply chains are provided based on the findings of this research. In conclusion, this study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on blockchain technology in supply chain management, specifically focusing on its application in SMEs. By highlighting the benefits and challenges of blockchain adoption in SME supply chains, this research aims to assist SME owners and managers in making informed decisions about integrating blockchain technology into their operations to improve transparency and efficiency.
