The increasing digitalization of literary texts presents both opportunities and challenges for enhancing reader engagement, yet there remains a significant gap in understanding how interactive e-text features can effectively augment narrative comprehension and emotional involvement. This study investigates the potential of digital narrative augmentation to transform traditional literary engagement through the development and evaluation of interactive e-text prototypes. The primary aim is to examine how specific digital features—such as hyperlinks, multimedia elements, and user-driven narratives—impact readers’ interpretive skills, emotional responses, and overall engagement levels. The research objectives include identifying the key interactive features that influence engagement, assessing the usability and accessibility of augmented narratives, and determining the varying effects across different reader demographics. Employing a mixed-methods research design, the study integrates quantitative experimental methods with qualitative user feedback.
