Thesis Abstract

Abstract
Contraceptive use among female university students is a critical public health issue that requires attention. This study aims to explore the factors influencing contraceptive use among this population. A mixed-methods approach will be utilized to gather data from female students in various universities. Quantitative surveys will be administered to collect information on the prevalence of contraceptive use, types of contraceptives used, and knowledge about contraception. Additionally, qualitative interviews will be conducted to delve deeper into the attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions surrounding contraceptive use among female students. The study hypothesizes that factors such as knowledge about contraception, access to contraceptives, cultural and societal norms, and peer influences play a significant role in determining contraceptive use among female university students. By identifying these factors, the study aims to provide insights that can inform the development of targeted interventions to promote contraceptive use and reduce unintended pregnancies among this population. The findings of this research have the potential to contribute to the existing literature on contraceptive use among young adults, particularly in the university setting. Understanding the factors that influence contraceptive use among female university students is crucial for designing effective sexual and reproductive health programs tailored to their needs. It is expected that the results of this study will inform policy-makers, health educators, and healthcare providers in developing strategies to improve access to contraceptives, enhance knowledge about contraception, and address barriers to contraceptive use among female university students. Ultimately, this research aims to contribute to the promotion of sexual and reproductive health among young women in university settings. In conclusion, this research project on contraceptive use among female university students is essential for addressing the sexual and reproductive health needs of this population. By exploring the factors influencing contraceptive use and understanding the attitudes and perceptions of female students towards contraception, this study aims to provide valuable insights that can inform future interventions and initiatives aimed at promoting contraceptive use and preventing unintended pregnancies among university students.
