Thesis Abstract

Abstract
Infant mortality, defined as the death of a child before their first birthday, continues to be a significant global public health concern. This research project aims to explore the causes and potential solutions to reduce infant mortality rates worldwide. The study will investigate various factors contributing to infant mortality, including but not limited to prematurity, low birth weight, birth defects, infections, and lack of access to quality healthcare services. The research will involve a comprehensive literature review to analyze existing studies and data on infant mortality. By synthesizing this information, the project aims to identify common trends and key determinants associated with infant deaths. Additionally, the study will explore disparities in infant mortality rates among different populations, including ethnic groups, socio-economic status, and geographic regions. One of the primary objectives of this research is to propose evidence-based solutions to address the underlying causes of infant mortality. Potential interventions may include improving prenatal care services, promoting maternal health and nutrition, enhancing access to vaccinations, and implementing public health education programs. By targeting these areas, the project aims to reduce the incidence of preventable infant deaths and improve overall child health outcomes. Furthermore, the study will examine the role of socio-economic factors, environmental conditions, and healthcare systems in influencing infant mortality rates. By understanding the complex interplay of these determinants, the research aims to provide insights for policymakers and healthcare professionals to develop effective strategies for reducing infant mortality on a global scale. In conclusion, this research project seeks to shed light on the multifaceted nature of infant mortality and propose evidence-based solutions to address this critical public health issue. By identifying key factors contributing to infant deaths and exploring potential interventions, the study aims to contribute to ongoing efforts to improve child health outcomes and reduce infant mortality rates worldwide. Through a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach, the project aspires to make a meaningful impact in reducing infant mortality and promoting the well-being of children and families around the world.
