Abstract
Telemedicine, as a rapidly evolving field in healthcare, has shown great potential in transforming the delivery of pediatric care. This comparative study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of telemedicine in pediatric care by comparing traditional in-person care with telemedicine-based care in terms of patient outcomes, satisfaction levels, and cost-effectiveness. The research methodology included a comprehensive literature review, data collection from pediatric patients and caregivers, and analysis of the findings. The literature review identified key studies and trends in telemedicine use in pediatric care, highlighting the benefits and challenges of implementing telemedicine in this specific healthcare setting. The research methodology involved surveying pediatric patients and their caregivers who received care through telemedicine and comparing their experiences with those who received traditional in-person care. The data collected included patient outcomes, satisfaction levels, and cost comparisons between the two modes of care delivery. The findings of the study revealed that telemedicine in pediatric care showed promising results in terms of improving access to care, reducing travel time and costs for patients and caregivers, and increasing overall satisfaction levels. However, challenges such as technological barriers, privacy concerns, and limited physical examination capabilities were also identified. The cost-effectiveness of telemedicine compared to traditional care was found to vary depending on the specific context and healthcare system. Overall, this study contributes to the growing body of literature on telemedicine in pediatric care by providing valuable insights into its effectiveness and potential impact on patient outcomes and healthcare delivery. The findings suggest that telemedicine has the potential to complement traditional care models and improve access to pediatric care, particularly in underserved or remote areas. Further research and collaboration between healthcare providers, policymakers, and technology developers are needed to optimize the use of telemedicine in pediatric care and ensure quality and equitable healthcare delivery for children.
