The use of virtual reality (VR) therapy in healthcare has gained significant attention in recent years, with promising results in various clinical settings. This research aims to investigate the impact of VR therapy on pain management in pediatric patients. Pain management in children is a critical aspect of healthcare, as it not only affects the physical well-being but also the emotional and psychological development of the child. Traditional pain management techniques, such as pharmacological interventions, have limitations and potential side effects, making alternative approaches like VR therapy increasingly appealing. This study will explore the effectiveness of VR therapy in reducing pain perception and improving overall patient experience in pediatric settings. Through a comprehensive literature review, the existing evidence on the use of VR therapy in pain management, particularly in pediatric populations, will be examined. The review will cover various aspects, including the theoretical framework of VR therapy, its mechanisms of action, and previous research findings supporting its efficacy in pain management. The research methodology will involve a quantitative approach, utilizing a randomized controlled trial design to assess the impact of VR therapy on pain perception in pediatric patients. The study will include a sample of pediatric patients undergoing painful procedures, such as vaccinations or minor surgeries, who will be randomly assigned to either the VR therapy group or the control group. Pain levels will be assessed before, during, and after the procedure using validated pain assessment tools. The findings from this study will contribute to the growing body of evidence on the effectiveness of VR therapy in pediatric pain management.
