The utilization of virtual reality (VR) technology in healthcare has gained significant attention in recent years, particularly in the domain of pain management for pediatric patients. This thesis aims to assess the impact of VR technology on pain management in pediatric patients, with a focus on its effectiveness, feasibility, and implications for clinical practice. The study will involve a comprehensive literature review to examine the existing evidence on the use of VR technology for pain management in pediatric populations. Additionally, a mixed-method research approach will be employed to collect and analyze data from healthcare professionals, pediatric patients, and their caregivers to explore their experiences and perspectives regarding the use of VR technology in pain management. The research methodology will include both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to provide a holistic understanding of the subject matter. The findings of this study are expected to contribute valuable insights into the efficacy of VR technology as an adjunctive tool for pain management in pediatric patients, as well as its potential challenges and limitations.
