Abstract
Telemedicine has emerged as a promising solution to bridge the gap in healthcare access for rural communities. This thesis investigates the impact of telemedicine on patient care within rural settings from a nursing perspective. The study aims to explore how telemedicine interventions influence patient care delivery, healthcare outcomes, and nursing practices in rural communities. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to analyze existing research on telemedicine, rural healthcare, and nursing practices. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, including interviews with healthcare professionals and quantitative analysis of patient data. The findings reveal that telemedicine positively impacts patient care in rural communities by improving access to healthcare services, enhancing communication between patients and healthcare providers, and increasing patient satisfaction. However, challenges such as technological barriers, limited resources, and resistance to change were identified as barriers to the full potential of telemedicine in rural healthcare settings. The results of this study provide valuable insights for healthcare providers, policymakers, and nursing professionals to effectively implement and optimize telemedicine initiatives in rural communities. Through a deeper understanding of the implications of telemedicine on patient care, this research contributes to the advancement of healthcare delivery in underserved rural areas.
