Pain management in pediatric patients is a critical aspect of healthcare, and innovative approaches are continuously sought to alleviate pain and improve the overall well-being of young patients. Virtual reality therapy has emerged as a promising intervention for pain management, offering a non-pharmacological and immersive approach to distract and engage patients during medical procedures. This thesis presents the results of a randomized controlled trial that investigates the impact of virtual reality therapy on pain management in pediatric patients. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the study, outlining the background of the research, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The use of virtual reality therapy in healthcare settings, particularly in pediatric pain management, is discussed to set the context for the study. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review on virtual reality therapy and pain management in pediatric patients.
