Abstract
Telemedicine, as a form of healthcare delivery leveraging technology to bridge geographical barriers and improve access to care, has been increasingly adopted in various healthcare settings. This study explores the impact of telemedicine on patient care specifically in rural communities from the perspective of nursing professionals. The overarching aim is to investigate how telemedicine interventions influence patient care outcomes, nursing practices, and overall healthcare delivery in rural areas. The research methodology employed in this study is a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. Data will be collected through surveys, interviews, and document analysis to provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic. The study population will consist of nursing professionals working in rural healthcare settings where telemedicine services are being utilized. Chapter 2 of the thesis will provide an extensive review of the literature, exploring ten key themes related to telemedicine, patient care, nursing practices, and rural healthcare delivery. Chapter 3 will detail the research methodology, including the research design, data collection procedures, and analysis techniques. The study will encompass eight elements in the methodology section, outlining the steps taken to investigate the impact of telemedicine on patient care in rural communities from a nursing perspective. Chapter 4 will present a detailed discussion of the research findings, highlighting the key outcomes, themes, and trends identified through the data analysis process. The discussion will delve into the implications of these findings for nursing practice, patient care outcomes, and healthcare delivery in rural communities. Chapter 5 will conclude the thesis by summarizing the key findings, implications, and recommendations for future research and practice. Overall, this thesis aims to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on telemedicine and its impact on patient care in rural communities, with a specific focus on the perspectives of nursing professionals. By shedding light on the experiences and perceptions of nurses working in telemedicine-enabled rural settings, this study seeks to provide valuable insights that can inform policy, practice, and future research in the field of telemedicine and rural healthcare delivery.
