Abstract
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that play crucial roles in gene regulation, and their dysregulation has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer. This thesis explores the role of miRNAs in cancer progression and the potential therapeutic implications of targeting these molecules. The study begins with a comprehensive review of the literature on miRNAs in cancer, highlighting their diverse functions in tumor initiation, progression, and metastasis. The research methodology section describes the experimental approaches used to investigate specific miRNAs and their targets in cancer cell lines and animal models. The findings of this study reveal that certain miRNAs act as oncogenes, promoting cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and resistance to therapy, while others function as tumor suppressors, inhibiting key oncogenic pathways.
