In the manufacturing industry, occupational skin diseases remain a significant health concern, largely attributable to inadequate implementation and evaluation of workplace skin protection programs. Despite the existence of various interventions aimed at reducing contact dermatitis and chemical exposure, empirical evidence on their actual effectiveness and the factors influencing successful adoption remains limited. This study seeks to critically evaluate the effectiveness of workplace skin protection programs within manufacturing settings, with a focus on identifying determinants that enhance or hinder program success. The primary objectives include assessing workers' compliance levels, evaluating the impact of training and organizational policies, and exploring the role of personal protective equipment (PPE) usage in preventing skin-related occupational hazards. Employing a mixed-methods research design, the study integrates quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews to provide a comprehensive understanding of program outcomes. The quantitative component involves administering a structured questionnaire to a stratified random sample of 300 manufacturing workers across multiple plants, exploring variables such as knowledge of skin protection, compliance behaviors, and perceived program efficacy. The qualitative aspect comprises semi-structured interviews with 20 safety managers and program coordinators to elucidate organizational perspectives and identify barriers to effective program implementation.
