The Relationship Between Oral Health and Overall Health

Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to explore the relationship between oral health and overall health. Growing evidence suggests that oral health is interconnected with systemic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory disorders, and adverse pregnancy outcomes. This study will conduct a comprehensive review of epidemiological, clinical, and mechanistic studies to elucidate the bidirectional links between oral health and systemic health, including the role of inflammation, microbiota, and immune responses. The findings of this research will contribute to a holistic understanding of the impact of oral health on overall well-being and may have implications for integrated healthcare approaches.
