Dental anxiety is a prevalent issue that affects a significant portion of the population and has been linked to poor treatment adherence and suboptimal oral health outcomes. This thesis aims to investigate the impact of dental anxiety on treatment adherence and oral health outcomes, with a focus on understanding the underlying mechanisms and identifying potential interventions to address this challenge. The study will begin with a comprehensive review of the existing literature on dental anxiety, treatment adherence, and oral health outcomes to establish the current state of knowledge in these areas. This review will highlight gaps in the literature and provide a theoretical framework for the research study. A mixed-methods approach will be employed to collect and analyze data on the relationship between dental anxiety, treatment adherence, and oral health outcomes. Quantitative data will be collected through surveys and clinical assessments, while qualitative data will be gathered through interviews with patients and dental healthcare providers.
