Abstract
Tele-dentistry, the remote provision of dental care and consultation through the use of telecommunications technology, has emerged as a potential solution to address the challenges of accessing dental services in remote areas. This thesis investigates the effectiveness of tele-dentistry in improving dental care delivery and outcomes in remote areas. The study aims to evaluate the impact of tele-dentistry on patient access to dental services, treatment outcomes, patient satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness compared to traditional in-person dental care. The literature review explores the current state of tele-dentistry, its benefits, challenges, and existing research on its effectiveness. The research methodology section outlines the quantitative and qualitative methods used to collect and analyze data, including surveys, interviews, and case studies. The findings from the study are discussed in detail, highlighting the advantages and limitations of tele-dentistry in remote areas. The results indicate that tele-dentistry can significantly improve access to dental care in underserved regions, reduce patient travel time and costs, and enhance patient satisfaction with the convenience of remote consultations. However, challenges such as technology barriers, regulatory issues, and limitations in diagnosis and treatment planning need to be addressed to maximize the effectiveness of tele-dentistry. In conclusion, this thesis contributes to the growing body of knowledge on tele-dentistry by providing valuable insights into its potential to transform dental care delivery in remote areas.
