Thesis Abstract

Flooding is a major environmental stress that significantly affects crop productivity worldwide. This project aims to explore genetic and physiological approaches to enhance crop tolerance to flooding. The study will investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying flood tolerance in plants and identify key genetic factors associated with this trait. Additionally, physiological responses of crops to flooding stress will be analyzed to develop strategies for improving flood tolerance in important crop species. The findings of this research will contribute to the development of flood-tolerant crop varieties, thereby mitigating the negative impact of flooding on agricultural production.
