Thesis Abstract

This project aims to explore physiological and molecular strategies for enhancing crop adaptation to heat stress, a major threat to global food security in the face of climate change. Heat stress adversely affects crop growth, development, and productivity, leading to significant yield losses. The project will investigate the physiological mechanisms underlying heat stress tolerance in crops, as well as the genetic and molecular pathways involved in heat stress response. By elucidating the physiological and molecular basis of heat stress tolerance, the research aims to identify potential targets for crop improvement and develop heat-tolerant varieties to ensure food security in a warming world.
