This thesis explores the impact of body-worn cameras on police officer behavior and accountability in law enforcement. The use of body-worn cameras has become increasingly prevalent in policing practices as a means to enhance transparency, accountability, and trust between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve. This study aims to analyze the effects of body-worn cameras on various aspects of police officer behavior and accountability, including their interactions with the public, adherence to departmental policies, and response to critical incidents. The research methodology employed in this study includes a comprehensive literature review to examine existing studies and theories related to body-worn cameras in law enforcement. Additionally, a mixed-methods approach will be utilized, incorporating both quantitative data analysis and qualitative interviews with police officers and community members. The study will also consider the perspectives of police department officials and policymakers to provide a holistic understanding of the implications of body-worn cameras on police practices. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the use of body-worn cameras in law enforcement and provide valuable insights for police departments, policymakers, and researchers. By examining the impact of body-worn cameras on police officer behavior and accountability, this study aims to inform evidence-based policy decisions and improve the effectiveness of policing practices.
