This thesis investigates the impact of body-worn cameras (BWCs) on police-community relations through a criminological lens. The use of BWCs by law enforcement agencies has become increasingly prevalent in recent years, with the aim of enhancing transparency, accountability, and trust between police officers and the communities they serve. This study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of how the implementation of BWCs influences various aspects of police-community relations and the implications for crime prevention and social order. The research methodology employed in this study includes a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. A thorough literature review is conducted to explore existing research on BWCs, police-community relations, and criminological theories relevant to this study. The study also includes interviews with police officers, community members, and stakeholders to gather firsthand perspectives on the use of BWCs and their impact on police-community interactions.
