This thesis investigates the impact of body-worn cameras (BWCs) on police accountability and public trust. The use of BWCs has become increasingly prevalent in law enforcement agencies worldwide, with the aim of enhancing transparency and accountability in police-citizen interactions. This study examines the effectiveness of BWCs in promoting police accountability and rebuilding public trust in law enforcement. The research begins with an exploration of the background of the study, highlighting the growing concerns over police misconduct and the need for technological interventions to address these issues. The problem statement identifies the gaps in existing literature regarding the impact of BWCs on police accountability and public trust. The objectives of the study are to analyze the benefits and challenges associated with BWCs, assess their impact on police behavior and community perceptions, and provide recommendations for improving their effectiveness. The methodology chapter outlines the research design, data collection methods, and analysis techniques employed in this study. A mixed-methods approach is utilized, combining qualitative interviews with police officers and community members, as well as quantitative analysis of BWC footage and public opinion surveys.
