Thesis Abstract

Abstract
The reintegration of ex-convicts into the workforce is a critical aspect of their successful transition back into society. This research project aims to evaluate the work-relations of ex-convicts by examining the challenges they face in securing and maintaining employment. The study will investigate the factors that influence employer perceptions of hiring individuals with criminal records, as well as the experiences of ex-convicts in the workplace. Using a mixed-methods approach, data will be collected through surveys and interviews with both employers and ex-convicts. The surveys will focus on gathering quantitative data regarding employer attitudes towards hiring ex-convicts, while the interviews will provide qualitative insights into the experiences of ex-convicts in the workplace. By combining these two methods, the research aims to offer a comprehensive understanding of the work-relations of ex-convicts. The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on reentry programs and the challenges faced by ex-convicts in the workforce. By identifying the barriers to employment for ex-convicts, the research aims to inform policymakers and stakeholders about the need for targeted interventions to support their successful reintegration. Additionally, the study will highlight best practices for employers in fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment for ex-convicts. Overall, this research project seeks to shed light on the complexities of the work-relations of ex-convicts and provide valuable insights for improving their employment outcomes. By exploring the perspectives of both employers and ex-convicts, the study aims to bridge the gap between these two groups and facilitate more effective collaborations in promoting successful reintegration. Ultimately, the findings of this research have the potential to inform evidence-based policies and practices that can enhance the employment prospects and overall well-being of ex-convicts as they strive to rebuild their lives post-incarceration.
