The aim of this research work is to identify the major factors militating against Anambra State Water Corporation from achieving its objective of providing adequate water supply to the generality of Anambrarians. As well as to find out if there is any significant relationship between performance appraisal and efficient / effective service delivery in Anambra State Water Corporation. To uncover the trend of events in the scene, a review of related literature was carried out, to enable us make this work a continuation of other writers work for better understanding. As a method of gathering data, a structured and close-ended questionnaire was designed, validated and administered to respondents and was later retrieved and used for this research. By and large, it was discovered that corruption, improper managerial approach and lack of performance appraisal are the major factors militating against Anambra State Water Corporation from achieving its objective of providing steady water supply to the generality of Anambrarians. Thus, it was also discovered that there is a significant relationship between performance appraisal and efficient/effective service delivery in Anambra State Water Corporation. However, it was discovered that performance appraisal does not take place in Anambra State Water Corporation. And there is need to appraise the performance of workers of Anambra State Water Corporation. In the course of this study, some findings were made and solutions were proffered. We are of the view that a practical application of our recommendations could go a long way in solving some of these problems so that at the end efficiency and effectiveness will be the hallmark of Anambra State Water Corporation
