Thesis Abstract

Abstract
The Design and Implementation of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Registration and Result Processing system is a crucial project aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the tertiary education admission process in Nigeria. The current system of multiple examination bodies conducting separate exams for admission into universities and other tertiary institutions has led to several challenges, including duplication of efforts, inconsistencies in examination standards, and difficulties in result verification. To address these issues, a unified system that streamlines registration and result processing for all tertiary institutions is proposed. The project involves the development of a comprehensive online platform that will serve as a centralized portal for UTME registration, examination scheduling, result compilation, and dissemination. The system will be designed to accommodate a large volume of users, including students, exam administrators, and university admission officers. Key features of the platform include secure user authentication, real-time data synchronization, automated result collation, and data analytics for performance evaluation. The registration module of the system will allow students to create profiles, select examination centers, and pay registration fees online.
