Thesis Abstract

Abstract
This research project focuses on the design and implementation of a computerized temperature control system for a cold room. Cold rooms are essential for storing perishable goods such as food, pharmaceuticals, and other temperature-sensitive products. Maintaining a consistent temperature within the cold room is crucial to preserving the quality and safety of these items. The proposed computerized temperature control system aims to automate and optimize the temperature regulation process in a cold room environment. The system will be designed to monitor and control the temperature inside the cold room using sensors and actuators connected to a microcontroller unit. The microcontroller will process the temperature data from the sensors and adjust the cooling system accordingly to maintain the desired temperature range. Additionally, the system will be equipped with a user interface that allows operators to set temperature parameters, view real-time temperature readings, and receive alerts in case of any temperature deviations. The implementation of the computerized temperature control system will involve integrating hardware components such as temperature sensors, actuators, a microcontroller unit, and a display interface. The software aspect will include developing the control algorithm for temperature regulation, implementing user interface functionalities, and ensuring seamless communication between the hardware components. Testing and validation of the system will be conducted in a real cold room environment to assess its performance in maintaining temperature stability and responding to varying external conditions. The benefits of this computerized temperature control system include improved accuracy and consistency in temperature regulation, reduced energy consumption through efficient cooling system operation, and enhanced monitoring capabilities for managing the cold room environment. By automating the temperature control process, the system can help minimize temperature fluctuations, prevent spoilage of perishable goods, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards for storage conditions. Overall, the design and implementation of a computerized temperature control system for a cold room present a practical solution to enhance the efficiency and reliability of cold room operations. This system can contribute to maintaining product quality, prolonging shelf life, and optimizing energy usage in cold storage facilities.
