The proliferation of digital technologies has necessitated innovative approaches to enhance digital literacy among diverse populations, with public libraries positioned as pivotal community hubs for lifelong learning. Despite the critical role of public libraries in fostering digital skills, engagement levels remain suboptimal, often hindered by traditional instructional approaches that fail to motivate adult learners and underserved populations. This study aims to investigate the impact of integrating gamified learning strategies within public library environments on digital literacy engagement among adult patrons. The specific objectives include assessing current engagement levels with digital literacy programs, designing and implementing a gamified learning intervention tailored to library settings, and evaluating its effectiveness relative to conventional instructional methods. Employing a mixed-methods research design, the study combines quantitative and qualitative approaches to provide a comprehensive understanding of the intervention’s impact. The quantitative component involves a quasi-experimental design with a purposively sampled population of 300 adult library users across three public libraries in a metropolitan region, divided into control and experimental groups. Data collection instruments comprise validated surveys measuring digital literacy skills, engagement levels, and motivation, complemented by digital analytics tracking participation in gamified versus traditional programs.
