The initial phase of the project focuses on choosing the right type of wood for the door panels and frame. Factors such as durability, grain pattern, and cost are considered when selecting the wood to ensure that the door will be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Once the materials are chosen, the wood is carefully cut and shaped to create the individual panels that will be assembled to form the door. Joinery techniques play a crucial role in the construction of panel doors, as they determine the strength and longevity of the final product. Mortise and tenon joints are commonly used to join the stiles and rails of the door frame, providing a secure connection that can withstand the rigors of everyday use.
