The increasing urbanization and changing climate patterns have put significant pressure on urban drainage systems, leading to frequent flooding and water quality issues in urban areas. Sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) have emerged as a promising solution to address these challenges by integrating natural processes into the design and management of drainage systems. This thesis aims to analyze and design sustainable urban drainage systems to enhance urban water management practices. The research begins with a comprehensive literature review in Chapter Two, which examines the current state of knowledge on sustainable urban drainage systems. The review covers various aspects such as the principles of SUDS, design considerations, case studies, and implementation challenges. The findings from the literature review provide a foundation for the subsequent chapters of the thesis. Chapter Three focuses on the research methodology employed in this study. The methodology includes data collection, site analysis, hydraulic modeling, and sustainability assessment techniques. The chapter outlines the step-by-step process followed to analyze and design sustainable urban drainage systems, emphasizing the importance of integrating nature-based solutions into urban water management practices.
