Thesis Abstract
From Rhychophonis phoenici, oil was extracted locally and the iodine value (number) was determined from the extracted oil. The value of iodine that was obtained after experimentation and calculation was 39.34. This Value is an indication that Rhynchophorus phoenici oil is non-drying oil and contains a high unsaturated fatty acid that absorbed high quantity of iodine. The research work was quite promising and worthmile.
