Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) play a significant role in the economic development of Nigeria. With the rapid advancement of Information Communication Technology (ICT), there is a growing interest in understanding its impact on SME productivity. This research aims to investigate the influence of ICT on the productivity of SMEs in Nigeria. The study utilizes a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative insights from interviews with SME owners and ICT experts. The quantitative analysis involves examining the adoption levels of ICT tools such as software applications, communication technologies, and online platforms among SMEs in Nigeria. This will help in identifying the extent to which SMEs are leveraging ICT for their operations. Furthermore, the research explores the perceived benefits and challenges faced by SMEs in integrating ICT into their business processes. By understanding the barriers hindering effective ICT adoption, recommendations can be formulated to address these challenges and enhance SME productivity. Additionally, the study investigates the role of government policies and support programs in promoting ICT use among SMEs. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the existing literature on ICT adoption in SMEs, particularly in the context of Nigeria. By identifying the specific ICT tools that have the most significant impact on SME productivity, this study aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, business owners, and other stakeholders interested in fostering the growth of SMEs through technology. Overall, this research seeks to shed light on the potential of ICT to drive productivity improvements in Nigerian SMEs. By understanding the current state of ICT adoption, the challenges faced, and the opportunities for growth, this study aims to provide practical recommendations for enhancing the productivity and competitiveness of SMEs in Nigeria. Ultimately, the goal is to support the sustainable development of SMEs and contribute to the overall economic growth of the country through the strategic use of Information Communication Technology.
