**Abstract
** The growing emphasis on sustainability in business operations has prompted Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to adopt sustainable supply chain practices to reduce environmental impact and enhance overall performance. This thesis investigates the implementation of sustainable supply chain practices in SMEs, focusing on the challenges, strategies, and outcomes associated with this transition. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with quantitative surveys to gather comprehensive data from SMEs across different industries. The study begins with an exploration of the current state of sustainable supply chain practices in SMEs, highlighting the limited adoption and the factors influencing decision-making in this context. Through an extensive literature review, ten key themes emerge, including the importance of stakeholder engagement, the role of technology, and the impact of regulations on sustainable supply chain management in SMEs. The research methodology section outlines the data collection process, sampling strategy, and analysis techniques used to examine the challenges and opportunities faced by SMEs in implementing sustainable supply chain practices. The findings reveal that while SMEs encounter various barriers such as limited resources and lack of awareness, they also leverage strategies such as collaboration with suppliers and investment in renewable energy to drive sustainable practices. In the discussion of findings, the thesis delves into the implications of sustainable supply chain practices on SME performance, including cost savings, enhanced reputation, and improved competitiveness. The analysis also highlights the need for tailored support mechanisms and capacity-building initiatives to facilitate the adoption of sustainable practices in SMEs. In conclusion, this thesis underscores the significance of sustainable supply chain practices for SMEs and offers recommendations for policymakers, industry associations, and SME owners/managers to foster a more sustainable business environment.
