This project aims to investigate the role of plant volatiles in plant-insect interactions. Plants emit a wide range of volatile organic compounds that play crucial roles in mediating interactions with insects, including herbivores, pollinators, and natural enemies. Understanding the chemical ecology of plant-insect interactions is essential for developing sustainable pest management strategies and enhancing pollination services. This study will explore the chemical composition of plant volatiles, their emission patterns, and their effects on insect behavior and physiology. Field surveys, laboratory bioassays, and chemical analyses will be conducted to unravel the complex interactions between plants and insects. The findings will contribute to our understanding of plant-insect chemical communication and may have practical applications in agriculture and conservation.
