Investigating the effects of different plant hormones on root development

Thesis Abstract

This project aims to investigate the effects of different plant hormones on root development. Plant hormones play crucial roles in regulating various aspects of plant growth and development, including root system architecture. Understanding how different hormones influence root development is important for optimizing crop productivity and enhancing plant adaptation to environmental stresses. In this study, we will examine the effects of auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins, abscisic acid, and ethylene on root growth, branching, and root hair formation. We will also explore the molecular mechanisms underlying hormone-mediated root development, including hormone signaling pathways and gene expression regulation. The findings from this research will contribute to our understanding of root development and provide insights into strategies for manipulating root traits in plants.
