Analyzing the Role of Plant Cell Signaling in Plant Response to Oxidative Stress

Thesis Abstract

Oxidative stress is a common physiological response of plants to various environmental stressors, including drought, high temperatures, and pollutants. Plant cell signaling pathways play a crucial role in regulating plant responses to oxidative stress. This project aims to investigate the role of plant cell signaling in mediating plant defense mechanisms against oxidative stress. By conducting laboratory experiments and molecular analyses, we will examine the activation of key signaling molecules, such as reactive oxygen species (ROS), antioxidants, and stress-responsive genes. Additionally, we will explore the crosstalk between different signaling pathways and their contribution to plant stress tolerance. The findings of this study will enhance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying plant responses to oxidative stress and may have implications for the development of stress-tolerant crop varieties.
