Thesis Abstract
This study was carried out to examine the role of role commercial banks in the economic development of Nigeria using Keystone Bank Plc as a study area. To achieve this objective, three research questions and two research hypotheses were formulated to guide this study. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentages and tables to analyze research questions and Chi-square statistical tool was used for testing of research hypotheses. A structured questionnaire was used as the major instrument for data collection from the staff and management of Keystone Bank. After the careful analysis of the data, the following findings were revealed that; there is a significant difference the impact of commercial bank loans and economic development in Nigeria. The study was concluded with some recommendations that government should try as much as possible to study the financial environment for the country very well and engage in expertise in financial policies for the country devoid of quick and constant (amendment).
