Thesis Abstract

Abstract
Banking habits in rural communities play a significant role in the financial inclusion and economic development of these areas. This research project aims to investigate the various factors influencing banking habits in rural communities and their impact on the overall financial landscape. The study will explore the reasons behind the prevalence of traditional banking practices over modern digital banking solutions in rural areas. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data on banking habits in rural communities. The quantitative surveys will focus on collecting data on the frequency of banking transactions, types of banking services utilized, and barriers to accessing banking services. On the other hand, qualitative interviews will provide in-depth insights into the attitudes, perceptions, and preferences of rural residents towards banking services. One of the key objectives of this research is to identify the socio-economic factors influencing banking habits in rural communities. Factors such as income levels, education, access to banking infrastructure, and awareness of financial services are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the banking behavior of rural residents. By analyzing these factors, the study aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to design more targeted interventions to promote financial inclusion in rural areas. Furthermore, the research will also investigate the role of technology and innovation in transforming banking habits in rural communities. With the increasing penetration of mobile phones and internet services in rural areas, there is a growing opportunity to promote digital banking solutions among rural residents. The study will assess the awareness, usage, and perceived benefits of digital banking platforms among rural communities and explore strategies to enhance their adoption. Overall, this research project seeks to contribute to the existing literature on banking habits in rural communities by providing a comprehensive analysis of the factors influencing banking behavior in these areas. The findings of the study are expected to have practical implications for policymakers, financial institutions, and development organizations working towards promoting financial inclusion and sustainable economic growth in rural communities.
