This thesis focuses on the critical task of designing a sustainable urban development plan for a growing city to address the challenges posed by rapid urbanization. The study aims to provide a comprehensive framework that integrates environmental, social, and economic considerations to ensure the long-term viability and resilience of the city. Through a systematic literature review, the research examines existing urban development practices, sustainability principles, and best practices to inform the design of the proposed sustainable urban development plan. The introduction sets the context for the study by highlighting the significance of sustainable urban planning in addressing the complex and interconnected challenges of urban growth. The background of the study provides a historical overview of urban development trends and their impact on cities, emphasizing the need for a more sustainable approach. The problem statement identifies key issues such as environmental degradation, social inequality, and economic instability that the sustainable urban development plan seeks to address. The objectives of the study are to develop a holistic and integrated sustainable urban development plan that promotes environmental conservation, social equity, and economic prosperity. The limitations of the study are acknowledged, including constraints related to data availability, time, and resources. The scope of the study outlines the geographical area and specific aspects of urban development that will be covered in the plan. Eight components are detailed, covering aspects such as site analysis, stakeholder engagement, sustainability assessment, scenario development, and policy recommendations.
