The increasing recognition of biophilic design principles as a means to enhance occupational environments has prompted a critical examination of their influence on workplace productivity and employee wellbeing. Despite burgeoning interest and anecdotal reports suggesting benefits, empirical evidence remains limited and context-specific, necessitating rigorous investigation into quantifiable impacts. This study aims to assess the extent to which biophilic design elements—such as natural lighting, indoor vegetation, and organic architectural forms—affect productivity and wellbeing among office workers, with specific objectives to identify key design features most influential, measure changes in employee performance, and evaluate shifts in psychological health indicators attributable to biophilic interventions. Employing a mixed-methods sequential explanatory research design, the study integrates quantitative surveys and experimental measurements with qualitative interviews. The population comprised 250 office employees from a multinational corporation's headquarters in an urban setting, with a stratified random sampling technique used to select 150 participants from departments undergoing biophilic refurbishment and 100 from control departments without such interventions. Data collection instruments included standardized workplace productivity questionnaires (e.g., the Work Productivity and Activity Impairment Questionnaire), psychological wellbeing scales (e.g., the General Health Questionnaire), and objective performance metrics such as task completion times and error rates.
