The research aims to identify and evaluate sustainable design strategies that can be applied to urban affordable housing projects, with a focus on enhancing environmental performance, social equity, and economic viability. The study begins with an examination of the current state of affordable housing in urban areas, highlighting the challenges and opportunities for integrating sustainable design principles into housing development projects. Through a comprehensive literature review, ten key sustainable design strategies are identified and analyzed in the context of urban affordable housing. These strategies encompass a range of approaches, including passive design techniques, renewable energy systems, green building materials, and community engagement initiatives. The research methodology section outlines the approach adopted to investigate sustainable design strategies for urban affordable housing developments.
