Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to investigate the impact of tourism on the preservation of archaeological sites. Tourism can have both positive and negative effects on archaeological sites, including increased funding for conservation efforts, but also increased foot traffic and potential damage. This study will examine the relationship between tourism and site preservation, focusing on the strategies and practices employed to mitigate negative impacts and promote sustainable preservation. It will also explore the role of tourists, site managers, and local communities in preserving archaeological sites. The findings of this research will contribute to the development of effective preservation strategies for archaeological sites in the context of tourism.
