Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to investigate the impact of archaeological tourism on the protection of archaeological sites. The study will analyze case studies of archaeological sites that have experienced increased visitation and assess the measures implemented to mitigate potential negative impacts. Additionally, it will explore the role of visitor management strategies, interpretation programs, and site monitoring in ensuring the long-term protection of archaeological sites. By identifying best practices and lessons learned, this research will provide valuable insights for archaeologists, heritage managers, and tourism stakeholders interested in balancing tourism development with site preservation.
