Aiming to develop a theoretically informed, practically implementable framework for valuing heritage tourism at archaeological sites, the research pursues specific objectives (i) to synthesize conceptualizations of heritage value from economic, sociocultural, and conservation perspectives; (ii) to identify measurable indicators of intrinsic, instrumental, and relational values associated with archaeological tourism; (iii) to examine stakeholder perceptions of value distribution among visitors, site managers, local residents, and policymakers; (iv) to quantify how non-market and market-based values interact to shape sustainable tourism outcomes; and (v) to validate a composite valuation framework through empirical testing across multiple sites.
