Thesis Abstract

Abstract
The increasing prevalence of antibiotic-resistant pathogens poses a significant challenge to global public health. In response, there is a growing interest in exploring alternative antimicrobial agents, such as natural plant extracts, for their potential medical applications. The present study aims to analyze the antimicrobial properties of various natural plant extracts and evaluate their effectiveness against a range of pathogenic microorganisms. The research methodology involves the extraction of bioactive compounds from selected plant species using appropriate extraction techniques. These extracts will then be subjected to antimicrobial susceptibility testing against a panel of clinically relevant bacteria and fungi. The study will also investigate the mechanisms of action of the plant extracts to elucidate their antimicrobial activity. The literature review provides a comprehensive overview of previous studies on the antimicrobial properties of natural plant extracts, highlighting their potential as alternative therapeutic agents. The discussion of findings will present the results of the antimicrobial susceptibility testing and elucidate the mechanisms of action of the plant extracts. The study will also identify the most promising plant extracts for further development as potential antimicrobial agents. Overall, this research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on natural antimicrobial agents and their potential applications in medical settings. The findings of this study have the potential to inform the development of novel antimicrobial therapies that could help address the growing threat of antibiotic resistance.
