Thesis Abstract

Abstract
This thesis investigates the relationship between muscle activation patterns and joint stability in athletes. The study aims to explore how specific muscle activation patterns may influence joint stability during physical activity, with a focus on athletes who are at higher risk of musculoskeletal injuries. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review to establish the current understanding of muscle activation patterns and joint stability in athletes. This review covers various studies that have examined the relationship between muscle activation, joint stability, and injury risk in athletic populations. Data collection for this study includes electromyography (EMG) measurements to assess muscle activation patterns, as well as biomechanical analyses to evaluate joint stability during specific movements. A sample of athletes from different sports disciplines will be recruited to participate in the study, with data collected both at rest and during physical activity to capture real-time muscle activation patterns and joint stability metrics. The findings from this study are expected to provide valuable insights into how specific muscle activation patterns may impact joint stability in athletes. By identifying key muscle groups and activation patterns that contribute to joint stability, this research aims to inform injury prevention strategies and training programs for athletes to optimize performance and reduce injury risk. Overall, this thesis contributes to the existing body of knowledge on muscle activation patterns and joint stability in athletes, highlighting the importance of understanding these factors in promoting athletic performance and reducing the risk of musculoskeletal injuries.
