Thesis Abstract

This project aims to explore the concept of forest-based forest conservation and the management of protected areas. Forests play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity, providing ecosystem services, and mitigating climate change. However, they face numerous threats such as deforestation, habitat fragmentation, and illegal logging. Protected areas are designated to safeguard these valuable forest ecosystems and their associated biodiversity. This project will examine the principles, strategies, and challenges involved in forest-based forest conservation and the effective management of protected areas. It will also explore the role of local communities, stakeholders, and governance mechanisms in ensuring the long-term sustainability of these conservation efforts.
