Forestry practices globally are increasingly challenged by the need to balance ecological sustainability with socio-economic demands, particularly across diverse climatic zones such as temperate and tropical regions. Despite widespread recognition of sustainable forestry as pivotal to environmental conservation and resource management, significant variations in practices, policies, and outcomes persist between these regions. This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of sustainable forestry practices employed in temperate and tropical regions, with an emphasis on identifying effective strategies, challenges, and socio-economic factors influencing sustainability outcomes. The specific objectives are to (1) evaluate the ecological impacts of current forestry practices in both regions, (2) assess institutional frameworks and policy effectiveness, and (3) analyze socio-economic drivers that shape sustainable forestry management. Employing a mixed-methods research design, the study integrates quantitative data analysis with qualitative insights to illuminate the multifaceted nature of sustainability in forestry.
