Teaching students about the importance of pollinators in agriculture

Thesis Abstract

This research focuses on the significance of pollinators in agriculture and the importance of educating students about their role. Pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, birds, and bats, play a crucial role in the pollination of flowering plants, including many crops. However, the decline in pollinator populations due to various factors, including habitat loss and pesticide use, poses a significant threat to global food production. This study explores the educational strategies and approaches that can be employed to raise awareness among students about the importance of pollinators in agriculture and the need for their conservation. By integrating this knowledge into agricultural science education, students can develop a deeper understanding of the interdependence between pollinators and food production, and become advocates for pollinator conservation.
